you know I think of this every time I see that someone got robbed and all your files are there. Google drive is free and you couldn't make half a gig worth of music to fill it in a year. If it is your livelihood protect it even more. Still sucks but I wish people had some foresight in this

Absolutely not true. If you're dealing with uncompressed files, you are talking about terrabytes. No cloud back up will be able to handle it... and even if it could, it will take you forever to upload it.

It sucks when stuff gets stolen (I've had a car jacked from in front of my house), but when stuff like you own music or art gets stolen, it's a whole new level of pain. And his livelihood on top. That blows. The thieves will get divine retribution somehow.
And a good craigslist detective will definitely be able to fine out who ended up with some of the stuff- not necessarily the thieves themselves, but that stuff will end up on CL at some point.

Hey, I've been to Pappy's Smokehouse. My gf and I were driving down to Memphis to do cheap touristy stuff and eat a bunch of bbq, so I figured might as well stop in St. Louis for even more bbq. They had pretty solid ribs, but failed to mention the ribs come with a side of theft.
